I guess it’s unfair to compare this movie to a flick like The Godfather, but taken on it’s own terms, it still falls into the good-but-not-great category. The best scenes in the film are in the early going where the elderly Valachi has to defend himself in prison from reward-happy inmates. Although the flick is reasonably watchable, it doesn’t quite draw you into the seedy underworld the way the great mobster movies do. — Mitch Lovell
