Michael Apted did a good job of pacing the film, which, although measured, always seems to be a step ahead of the viewer – good for a mystery. The story focuses mainly on the methods of the police working to crack the crime. Gorky Park is a lesser known thriller that brings you behind the Iron Curtain just before it came crashing down in the late 1980’s.
