Où un homme riche et vieillissant poursuit de ses assiduités une merveilleuse jeune fille pauvre, tantôt en France, tantôt en Espagne. En vain, toujours, y compris et surtout quand il croit être sur le point d’aboutir. La frustration monte au nez de notre pépère de luxe, tandis que le terrorisme sévit dans les deux pays et ajoute au déséquilibre ambiant. Le film est bizarre, déroutant autant qu’éprouvant. Passionnant, donc.
